The challenge
Aurora Keystone operated a real-time data-warehousing platform on its own hardware. Performance bottlenecks, rigid capacity, no automatic failover, and no disaster-recovery plan exposed the business to prolonged interruption.
What CloudVests delivered
CloudVests migrated the platform to AWS, modernized the database for high availability, replaced fixed ingestion capacity with an auto-scaling layer, and established a warm standby in a second region.
AWS Database Migration Service kept the target synchronized during cutover, reducing the final interruption window. Amazon Aurora provided managed high availability for the transactional layer, and Kinesis Data Streams decoupled ingestion volume from downstream processing capacity.
Cross-region recovery procedures combined replicated data, AWS Backup policies, health monitoring, and documented failover steps. CloudWatch alarms were aligned to recovery thresholds rather than infrastructure availability alone.
The outcome
The new platform removed fixed-capacity bottlenecks and introduced a tested recovery posture able to restore service in minutes if the primary region becomes unavailable.
Migration and resilience were delivered as one program: the destination was not considered complete until recovery dependencies, ownership, and validation steps were defined and exercised.
